In the wake of Nepal’s devastating earthquake, local artists have produced a Musical Showcase for Nepal Relief in support of the Canadian Red Cross. This fundraising effort will take place on Saturday, June 27th at 9pm at the Freetimes Café located at 320 College Street in Toronto.
Audiences can expect a stellar evening of live performances featuring Mississauga singer/songwriters Matt Zaddy, Heather Brissenden, Chris Graham, percussionist Joash Paul alongside Toronto artists comedian Kat Leonard and bassist Alex Furlott. These artists will serve up a mix of live comedy, original music and well known musical favourites in an intimate cabaret environment. Award-winning songwriter Chris Graham is known for his work with musical outfits “The Framework” and “Canvas”. Matt Zaddy is known on the local circuit for his well-crafted songs and open mic nights. Comedienne Kat Leonard was trained at Second City in Toronto and is known for her energetic live performances across the G.T.A.
While Nepal has seen vigorous earthquake relief after the devastating April 25, 2015 natural disaster, there are estimates that up to 40,000 homes in Sindupalchowk alone have been destroyed.
Help make a difference! The Nepal Musical Showcase has a cover charge of $10 at the door (pay $20 and receive a tax receipt from the Canadian Red Cross). The show will begin at 9pm and will feature raffle prizes and more! To donate or for additional information, please email hcb@rogers.com or call 416-822-1894.
