Monthly Archives: April, 2014

Delrose! A giggling unassuming bright bundle of joy she is. She’s worked very hard on releasing her first CD and it was effort well-placed, in my opinion. I find Delrose’s voice instantly soothing and her music immediately singalongable. It is said that the reason we as humans write and perform music is to attract a group to sing along with us, to gather a crowd and mount a force of voices to keep the lions at bay. If this is true, there be no lions at a wienie roast where Delrose’s Jump be playing. It is sure to inspire a singalong. It is a delightful soundscape for the everyday and I recommend you Jump in and take a listen for yourself!

“JUMP released on April 12, 2014 and Delrose is more than ecstatic to share her music with a wider audience. Her songs run high on emotion. Her performances are heart-felt and true. Music is her way of life. It is what drives her. Singing is her drug of choice and songwriting is her therapy.”

By the amount of glee emanating from this pic of Delrose with Owen Huot and Juan Santos at Placebo Space in Toronto, I’d say Delrose’s musical drugs and therapy are working!

The sounds of Delrose are available for owning on iTunes and for soundscaping on Soundcloud!

Why not take a leap and go for a Jump! Get it? Get it!

Photo shoot with Lisa MacIntosh

BABE ALERT! It’s not often that Cate of Life With More Cowbell is the subject of her own blog as she generously and beautifully uses her prose to promote others. As anyone who’s spent time with Cate knows, she is a force to be reckoned with and a charm of a character. She has so many talents, so much wisdom, the one of the kindest and truest hearts I have ever known, and she is also quite the looker, as these photos taken by Lisa MacIntosh illuminate. I for one am tickled inspired by these shots and so I share them with you. 🙂

Don’t forget to visit Cate’s blog Life With More Cowbell for news and insight on the Toronto arts scene and subscribe so you never miss a jingle of the Cowbell! 🙂

Had so much fun on Saturday, spending the early afternoon with photographer Lisa MacIntosh and makeup artist Rebecca Kupferstein up in the Studio at Alumnae Theatre for my white tie and tails vintage photo shoot.

Inspired by Lisa’s shoot with actress Kate Drummond, who sported a fab vintage look, as well as my experience playing Cecil Graham in Alumnae’s production of Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan several years ago, I decided to go with a period look as a male impersonator, in white tie and tails. For the makeup, we were inspired by Julie Andrews as Victor in Victor/Victoria.

Here are some select pics from the shoot. Thanks so much to Lisa and Rebecca for their beautiful work!

SAMSUNG A fabulous, fun time was had by all at WonderFest 2014 and I was so glad to join in the festivities at the concert last night, closing off a day of learning, collaborating and positive interaction at Revival Bar . And after a full day of workshops (A Capella Jam with Niki Andre and a Synergy Session with Madette ), the gang was engergized and ready to go.

LMG Productions organizers Kat Leonard and Arlene Paculan hosted an amazing line-up of talent (aka Wonder Women & Super Men) from a variety of arts disciplines, including music, spoken word, stand-up comedy and visual arts. Visual artists included paintings – which were featured onstage – by Dorothy Knight, Rohan Moore and Stephanie Payne, and face painting by Lisa Diane.

The stellar roster of concert performers, in order of appearance, included:
